About

Born from a desire to destigmatise the subject of death, Grief Club is a project exploring identity and connection through stories of grief and loss.

After my Mum died in 2019, I searched for ways to feel less alone in my grieving experience. I remember a friend who had lost both parents telling me that I was now a member of a special kind of club.

I began talking and writing openly about what I was feeling and learning through the grieving process, in the hope of finding my community. I felt compelled to speak about the stuff that nobody really likes to speak about because it can be uncomfortable, devastating and terrifying.

I believe it’s important to talk to each other about death because it’s an unavoidable part of life. It helps the grieving process.

The goal of this project is to connect, empathise, inform and destigmatise. I would love for Grief Club to grow into a beautiful, inclusive community of people supporting each other through shared storytelling.
